Area Of Triangle

In this lesson, we are going to learn another formula for area of triangle using trigonometry.

In trigonometry, the area of a triangle can be found even when the perpendicular height is not given. This method is especially useful for non-right-angled triangles, where traditional base-and-height approaches may not be straightforward.

Area Of Triangle Formula

The area of triangle for trigonometry is:

\(\mathrm{Area\ of\ }\triangle\mathrm{ABC}=\frac{1}{2}ab\ SinC\)

When applying the formula, take note of the following:

    • The angle must be in between the 2 sides
    • Check your calculator if it is in the right mode (radian or degree)
